Privacy Policy
Overview
Wi-Fi Trace is made by DAXIN SERVICES INC. The app does not collect, transmit or sell any personal data. It has no server of its own: everything it records is processed and stored on your device.
Data processed on your device
While you run a survey, the app records:
- the name (SSID) of the Wi-Fi network you are connected to and the hardware address (BSSID) of the access point serving you;
- your walking path, as positions relative to where the survey started, calculated by Apple's ARKit;
- the response times and packet loss of test messages (pings) sent to your router.
This data is stored only in the app's storage on your device. Deleting a survey removes its data; deleting the app removes everything.
Permissions and why we ask
- Camera: used only by ARKit to work out where your device is in the room. Camera images are never saved or sent anywhere.
- Precise location: iOS only lets an app read the name of the current Wi-Fi network if it has location permission. Wi-Fi Trace does not read, store or share your geographic location.
- Local network: used to send test messages to your router to measure connection quality. The app does not access other devices on your network.
What we don't do
No accounts. No analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs. No cookies. No tracking across apps or websites. The app's App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.
Sharing and export
Data leaves your device only when you tap Share and choose where to send an image or CSV file. What happens after that is governed by the app or service you choose.
Children
Wi-Fi Trace is a professional tool and is not directed at children under 13.
This website
wifitrace.app is a static website. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may process access logs under its own privacy policy.
